We work with children of all ages, their families, schools, and communities, to harness the power of art in envisioning and creating a more just society. We emphasize relationship building, connection among and across groups of people, collective care, and community coalitions that include young people. We provide programming and opportunities that are developmentally informed, culturally relevant, inclusive of diverse backgrounds and abilities, equitable in access, sensitive to emotional and psychological concerns, trauma-informed and grounded in antiracist and healing justice practices.
Kids Create Change is a non-profit organization that utilizes art to engage young people in self-advocacy and activism. We promote social-emotional development, socio-cultural awareness, and collective social action through project-based learning. These methods include participatory art projects, collaborative art-making, and public exhibition.
Our core values are expressed through our goals:
To create accessible opportunities that increase visibility and elevate the voices of young people in our community.
To celebrate multiple expressions of diversity e.g., race, socioeconomic status, gender, language, sexual orientation, religion, and ability through art.
To center stories and experiences from communities that are often silenced or untold.
To realize spaces where kids and teens can develop creative problem-solving skills and generate art-based solutions to social issues that have both grassroots and global impact.
